Having real fun with this one lol ...
Got a PC with a standard build we use across the site.
Staff want to play a DVD on this PC, but the sound is constantly crackling on this particular DVD.
I thought it could be the DVD disc itself, but it plays no problem in other PC's (again, with the same build, hardware etc) ... so that rules out the disc itself. Also tried another DVD written with the same software, and the same make of disc, and that works fine.
Any suggestions ?
Tried methods ...
Uninstall the IDE Channels from Dev Manager, and checked they're set to DMA.
Uninstalled/reinstalled audio drivers
Tried codec packs ... even though on other PC's that don't have the codec packs, this DVD works fine.
Tried using PowerDVD and VLC (aswell as Windows Media Player).
Tried another audio port on the PC.
... all of the above have made no difference what-so-ever.
Even tried plugging my phone into the speakers, and that played fine.
