No luck with the first commands. This switch is out of warranty so I think it's time to get a new one. We are going to have our electrician look at the power in this building before replacing the switch. I have a Cisco WS-C3560-8PC in our maintenance dept that shows the following when I run a show power inline. I have reset the switch physically. I'm guessing this thing is fried I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks!!

I have put a OSX Web Server in our DMZ. The problem now is that it has put it out of the reverse look up zones in our dns server. So I think it's being handed off to the ISP. So now my OSX server thinks it's DNS is xxx.isp.net when it should be xxx.godaddyaddy.com. Does anyone know how your resolve this issue? The problem is the server has no idea outside of our ISP it's ip points to xxx.godaddyaddy.com. Anyone had to deal with this before. Is it appropriate to ask the ISP to fix this DNS record? We are looking to bring outside devices into our district. So if a kid wants to bring there computer from home we want to be able to do that as long as they bring it by our office first to install security software. Also we want to be able to track the kids by MAC address the IP address tied to that MAC address using software at the district level. Also I am looking at some kind of Network Access Control software. Does anyone have any experience with Network Access Control software. How much configuration does it take to deploy. I am under the impression you have to make a MAC address list. Then configure all routers and switches to check the NAC software to see if they are in the list before handing the traffic off to the DHCP server. Any help would be huge.

We have had decent success deploying printers with a mix of the Print Management Console and then updating default settings with group policy on the GPO server. We have some issues with printers not updating when switching between OUs. For some reason it will retain old OU settings even after moved and a gpupdate /force has been run. I can look at the gpupdate /result and see that they should not be there. Confusing but we never switch OU's with out a re-image so it has worked well for us so far. Printers will never work right between the MS print team who can barely get versions of their own software out in cycle with OS and SP releases and HP's Driver issues I give up on the perfect print solution.

I am still having no luck with this even. I put the VBS script in right before pushprinterconnections.exe I put a question in with MS. This is driving me crazy. I was trying to make our printer deployment more compatible with Windows 7 and this is the headache I get.. lol..

A big problem we ran into with Snow Leopard was that we had to set the time server to our domain time server under the Date & Time settings. It was driving me crazy.

Oh okay I figured out with DeepFreeze I can just use the built in utility to do this. Anyone else have a problem with trying to use ThawSpace it just hangs for 30 min plus when it tries to create one. Anyway I have my User folders now moved to my student partition everything seems good.

I need to make OSX move my current user folder into \Volumes\Student HD\Users. I also need new users who might log into the machine to have there folders created in that partition. I'm not sure how to do this. Any help would be great. The reason we need to move this is because we want to DeepFreeze the system files and our apps but let the kids install stuff on top of that and play around with there own settings.

Apple certainly has the ability to excite people with great products, and with the iPhone they even managed to generate momentum for an entire product category. But, as a picture posted on Engadget shows (below), and many others have reported, there's something important missing from Apple's approach to connecting consumers to content. Thanks for the suggestions! I can barely get most educational developers to keep there websites accessible by Safari or Firefox on a Mac I'm not sure that they will be redeveloping there content for the iPad anytime soon. For instance Plato Learning Environment in particular has been a hassle. Do you have a way to deploy iPod Touch "images"? Trying to think about how a Teacher could manage content on 30+ devices daily.

My Daughter would love this for home. Other then that.. I'm kind of at a loss. I would like to say this would be great for classrooms. But how would you manage it? How would you turn in assignments? Another problem is that a lot of educational websites use flash and also use windows video files. This would be nice if HTML 5 had already gotten rid of Flash and Video Plugins. Really disappointing because I really like how iWork is on the iPad it would be perfect for kids and maybe simplify the headache that is my fleet of MacBooks trying to connect to active directory resources. It would be nice to have one stand alone simple device that works. I wanted apple to finally make a stand alone simple appliance for web computing. Disappointed
