ive been using a HAL independant image for a while now by putting the following in the [unatended ] section UpdateUPHal=ACPIAPIC_UP, %windir%\inf\hal.inf and then the drivers installed using oemPreinstall="Yes" OemPnPDriversPath="....." how that helps
