It's even worse than that. It either needs to be installed to every computer that wants it, or you can install it to run from a server. However whenever a new user runs the program it has to spend 30 minutes downloading updates into their local profile. So every computer and then every teacher and every individual child login has to download all the updates before you can actually use the program. It doesn't give you an option to skip it or to redirect the updates to one location so everyone gets them without having to download. This software really is a nightmare from a technical point of view. Who the hell did they get to create this stuff? Microsoft?

I'm also having that problem in one of my schools. So far I can get it working if I wipe and reinstall the software and then plug the camera in after starting the program. But then logging in as a student and doing the same thing works, until you reboot the computer and then it fails.

Or use it with Ghost. PXE booting makes life much easier.

I'm running the pre-release version on my Fujitsu Amilo Pro V3515 laptop. It's got a 1.6 GHz Dual Core pentium chip and 700MB of memory. The S3 graphics card gave it problems when it came to drivers, but I just found a copy of them rather than used the ones windows recommended that didn't work. Otherwise all has been pretty fine with it, except an anti-virus program that wasn't W7 compatible and slowed it down to a crawl. I was running it on 512MB when started and it handled that fine, the upgrade hasn't made a huge difference. As for XP mode, only program I've found that doesn't work with Win7 so far is Sherston's Tizzy's Toybox, the original version. The SE version is fine. In fact a lot of the old Sherston titles work better now as they don't have that pallette problem that used to leave the graphics messed up if you didn't disable it.

One of my schools has 5015 and it's a great printer except for one kinda major problem. When they set a background in Word it doesn't print out properly. You either get blocks of colour, or if you use the 2 tone blended background then instead of a couple of lines of colour you get dozens as it seems to compress them. Now one of my schools contacted Kyocera support and got the problem sorted out. But then when I asked how they forgot what it was. So my other school still has this problem. I've contacted Kyocera and not heard anything back. Have you got any idea what to change to get this sorted? My other schools with Kyocera have the newer models. FS-C5200DN I think and they are working wonderfully. Not had any problems with them. I'm not a fan of the Oki 56XX range or those type. Had too many niggly problems with them and they are expensive to run with having the change almost every part of it regularly.

Actually that's how the printer calibrates itself. The problem is that the self calibration isn't working. I'm having the same problem at one of my Liverpool schools. The printer is only a few months old and has started messing up on the colour. Print out a photo and the colour starts together and the gradually spreads out the further down you go. Here's a link I've found to one of the HP forums that might help, or might not as no success has been registered there. (Ok I can't post the link in my first post, so I'll add it after this.) Still it shows that it seems to be a common problem amongst those printers. Although even without that fault they never really impressed me. Andy
