Not sure - it's not actually out yet so no way of knowing, but the OOS team said in an AMA that it'll be a manual update, not an OTA. Ad-blocking is a tempting argument - I tried an AdBlock app but it crashed and did a pretty terrible job all round. I suppose the OPO is going to be about the easiest phone in the world to root, so I might be tempted if you get the AdBlocking going easily enough CM/Oxygen are almost exactly stock Android, from what I can tell, but with loads more configuration options in the menus so you can choose specifically what you want in the notifications, what you want the buttons to do, do you want the battery icon to actually tell you the % of battery left (of course you do why doesn't Android do that anyway)... just little bits and pieces to get it working exactly how you like.

OPO is 2014, but so was the HTC One (M8), which was the other choice for me. Don't think I'll bother rooting - never did with my Nexus, never felt the need, and should have even less reason with how tweakable the OPO is. OxygenOS looks like it'll require manual installing, and it won't have the fancy camera app of CM, but OP have commited to supporting it for at least two years, whereas CM is only supported for one more year. So it's OxygenOS now, and live with it not quite being full-featured at first, or CM12S and have to essentially factory-reset to OxygenOS in a year. Hmmm.

Both Cyanogen12S (the Android Lollipop update) and OxygenOS (OnePlus's new OS now that they've fallen out with Cyanogen) are out before the end of this month. So I'll be updating immediately either way - but I may as well go straight to OxygenOS, which is going to be supported long term by OnePlus, than go to Cyanogen12S which will likely be the last proper update the OnePlus One gets from Cyanogen. I just suspect that moving to OOS will be a bit more work than just an OTA update, but once it's done it's done.

To home. And we've gone out our way to be friendly to all the delivery drivers who work round our way, so that they know which garden building to leave any parcels in From what I gather from some quick Googling, it'll probably be here start of next week. TBH I won't start using it until OxygenOS is out anyway - if I can flash straight to that, it'll save me having to reset my phone to go that way later, if that's where all the updates will be happening. Still only 55% though, which seems to be the BBC telling me "you'll be miserable everywhere*". Thanks BBC! Best place near to me was to go back to Boston, where I started (though I was only 3 when I left) but where I am now is not far off either. Lowest population density of the lot (80/km^2, ranked 349 out of 380) and average age is highest, so in brief I'm surrounded by big open fields with the odd pensioner wandering around in them. As @Garacesh says, it's about modifying your behaviour based on consideration for the other person - I feel bad for indulging myself when my wife so rarely does, which is daft 'cos neither do I, but love never was logical. With half a million words in the English language I've still yet to find one that adequately expresses just how much I am in love with her. I feel bad for spending money on me that I could spend on her - even though I know full well she'd be more annoyed at me for spending it on her instead of getting something I want for myself.

My current project is that most thrilling of topics: printer contracts. By and large it's all lasers, except for HP, who are offering their new WideArray super-fancy-inkjets-on-steroids printers. On paper they look fantastic - up to 70ppm, all colour, as cheap as 0.44p/2.9p click on a desktop printer, lower power consumption, fewer consumables, more reliable... - but I'm not so foolish as to take a sales pitch at face value, so we have a demo unit of the x451dw arriving tomorrow, with an x585z due sometime as well. I've tried Googling, but can't turn up a decent mixed document for printing - a dozen pages, mixed text / office graphics / photos. I'll make my own with some Lorem Ipsum if needs be, but it'd save me some faff if someone knows of something. (I have a few calibration files already, but I'm more bothered about day-to-day quality and speed measurements than colour accuracy). Also, while we're on the topic, has anyone got any experience of these machines? Are they as close to laser quality as the reviews suggest? Are they as reliable and hassle free as I'm promised?

It's more the fact that it doesn't have separate buttons for clicking: you use the top left corner to left click and the bottom right (or something similarly daft) for right click. Lenovo have since reverted to a sane design, but sadly for the E540, they took leave of their senses.

Ah it's all grand really. To be honest she won't be that bothered - it's all just internal guilt because she really doesn't spend money on herself. Neither of us go out drinking, neither of us is fashion conscious in the slightest, we do just spend the money on the house or on the kids, so I feel kind of bad for spending something on me alone. We did exactly that a year ago when we needed new devices in work; bloomin' lovely things them ThinkPads, the keyboard is a marvel. The touchpad's not so hot, though, so a wireless mouse might be in order.

Normally when I try to add rep to someone I've thanked recently, I get a little pop up telling me I need to spread the love around first, but I'm getting nothing at all right now. Adding rep works if it's someone I'm allowed to add to, it's just the warning telling me when I can't that isn't working. FF36.0.3 On a related note, it's a bit of a faff anyway - oftentimes someone has helped me through a thread, and I've thanked each step of the way to show my gratitude, but then I want to +rep at the end when it's built up to something I'm especially grateful for. All I end up doing is going back through the thread, removing all my thanks, +repping then adding the thanks back. Is massive over-repping such a problem that we can't turn the limiter off?
