  1. Do a search on the moodle site for chat report. There's a chat report that you can drop in and it will show you all chat activity for the last X number of days
  2. Should you want something a little more powerful try this; ColorPic, The Desktop ColorPicker Software uber useful if you're designing webpage
  3. Have you tried running the disk clean up wizard? It will normally sort a whole of temp files. You can also try ccleaner
  4. the package manager won't have a problem with /home and /var but your right the other partitions could start to cause a problem. But then it all depends and how much the system has had new things installed and been tweaked. You can also do things like export your sources list and a list of all installed deb packages and then use those to quickly reinstall everything a fresh on a new system - but things are no starting to get a bit fancy. The advantage over this method is that you won't need to play around with reinstalling grub afterwards I'd take a look at gparted live if you haven't already - it's much faster to download and burn then knoppix
  5. Take a look at this post. This will let you clone the existing disk onto a new one and then boot from the cloned disk; Clone your Ubuntu installation onto a new hard disk | Linux.com The other alternative is to use a program like simplebackup to back up you home partition, /var ,/usr etc to a network share. Install ubuntu onto the new drive and use simplebackup to restore your backups. Although obviously you will need to reinstall your programs etc.
  6. If you use windows 2008 and IIS7 you can then use the web platform installer - Just tick a box and it will install Joomla, PHP and MYsql for you. I've found in the past that Drupal on IIS is very picky about permissions, you might find you need to add servername\iusr permissions. Also if using IIS6 don't use the php.exe installer, use the manual install as it's easier in the long run. On Windows 2003 you could try Xammp which makes the wamp stack easy to install - although possibly not the most secure. The other possibility is to run up an ubuntu linux server, possibly on a vmware server install, the lamp stack is dead easy to install
  7. Have you considered you a vpn instead? als won't IIS 7 on windows 2008 allow sftp with AD? If you haven't already have a play with the windows web platform installer - it's worryingly good
  8. I very much doubt Virgin have killed as i've been using ssh on my cable for years. So as to the problem - you know either your router or server can't connect over ssh - but can they connect any other way? Ie is the server serving webpages, torrent server, nx server or anything else? As for your reboot causing the issue I doubt if was that as you can normally connect multiple times with the same account. As you know you've got flaky kit i'd wait untill you get home and investigate
  9. Have you tryed to right click the file, choose properties and then seeing if there is button marked 'unblock'. Click it and then if that works for you.
