  1. Hmm, sounds like your MBR is broken. I use linux and refuse to touch vista but to me it sounds like your Hard drive may be failing. I have seen similar things happen to windows xp machines prior to a hdd failure. Try this EDIT: Vista Recovery Disc | Recovery Download | PC World burn the iso to disk and boot from it. If its just the booting that its having trouble with it you might be able to repair that. First try the repair option in the cd. The link is broken - website says the file could not be found
  2. I have recently purchased a LogiQ laptop and i have only used it for the past week or two. I now have an error message on a black and white screen saying: "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer 2. Choose your language, and then click "Next" 3. Click "Repair your computer" If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance File: \Boot\BCD Status: 0Xc000000f Info: an error occured while attempting to read the boot configuration data." I am the system administrator and this "Notebook Computer" did NOT come with a windows installation disk, the O/S (Vista Basic) was pre-installed. PLEASE FIND ME A SOLUTION!!! the manufacturers website has apparently been down/moved since october and i cannot get a reply from the email address provided. PLEASE HELP
  3. I did it, i "Skanked" an XP disk and it helped restore my PC, turns out it was because of some software that was improperly installed. Thanks all!
