About thomass

  1. I need hosted Office 365, We are a secondary school with approx 1000 students and 100 staff. We are currently on 100/100Mbps connection, I would like full control of email & filtering.
  2. We need internet, email and web filtering. I'm not aware of any others but I'm open to suggestions.
  3. Hi All, I'm sure this has come up before, and for that I apologise but I need to look for a new ISP and it's likely to be Exa Networks or Schoolsbroadband. I wondered if you had experiences good or bad that could share to help with the decision making process. Thanks, Thomas
  4. Try xrdp, you can then connect via Remote Desktop Connection on Windows PC, See more about it here
  5. Hi, We are using premiere elements 11 on a Windows XP/2003/2008 domain with 5GB quota for some students. When the students are opening their projects from the network it takes a long time and is very slow, additonally sometimes premiere just seems to freeze and then will catchup. I wondered if anybody else has had problems like this if so any ideas would be appricated.
  6. Hi Jon, Oh ok, well I have never used Lexia on a wireless network. Have you got a different make of wireless access point or a different wireless card you could try? Thomas
  7. @Jon I've just installed Lexia on my Dell laptop which uses a Intel Centrino Advanced-N (maybe 62** series) card and it didn't seem to give any errors. We are using Meraki wireless access points and I haven't changed any settings on the wirless card. What version of Lexia are you using?
  8. Just found this Lexia Learning It says that Lexia needs a constant connection to the internet. Have either of you tried your laptops on a wired connection to see if you still get connectivity problems in Lexia? Thomas
  9. Hi Jon, I was having some connection issues with Lexia which have now been resolved. I had to change the server setting to http as https traffic doesn't work very well through our ISP, additionally you could try changing the rpc_timeout setting to 180 as suggested by tech supoprt. Both of these settings are changed in the login.ini file, which is in C:\Program Files\Lexia Reading UK\LLSCommon We run Lexia on Windows XP machines with a proxy and they are all on a wired network. Hope that helps Thomas
  10. We use Successmaker 1.7.2 on our SEN PC's here on a standard vanilla network without any problems, we used to run 1.3 but I was able to get a free upgrade to the later version.
  11. I use a couple of storage cabinets to keep all of my electronic components in, you can get them from Rapid Electronics, see link Storage I have some of the Treston ones but Raaco are just as good.
  12. Here is a good place to start Quick start guide | Raspberry Pi HTH Thomas
  13. Hi, Just copied and pasted into Word then printed to PDF, this has removed all of the other grumph from the website. I have attached both Word and PDF versions HTH Thomas How to Fix Temporary Profile in Windows 7.pdf How to Fix Temporary Profile in Windows 7.doc
  14. I had this infection on a staff laptop the other day, followed the instructions from Bleeping Computer which worked a treat.
  15. I would strip the laptop apart and check the motherboard, but I suspect the motherboard has been fried as the water will have leaked through. It could be the keyboard have you tried disconnecting this to see if the laptop will turn on with the keyboard attached.
