My experiences with R2 Print Management have been mixed. Key points are There is NO way to set the default with it, so if you have a local printer or want to deploy more than one to a room, you may want to run a small vbs script when the user logs in to set the correct default printer. If PUSHPRINTERCONNECTIONS.EXE is causing reboots, or not working, check your Anti-Virus settings. I was getting this problem, until I unticked a box in McAfee v8 that stopped users from running .exe files in the windows system folders. Other than that it seems to be pretty good. SpuffMonkey (nice name btw)! I did this for a school by installing a cisco pix 501 firewall at a school allowing only email related traffic through. The plus side of this was that I was able to utilise the firewalls VPN capabilites as well to allow key users to log into the firewall and RDP into a server. This allows me to remotely administer the server and for users to access SIMS via the VPN tunnel. If you need anymore info, let me know. Bubba.

Just a quick thought and this is not tested, but you could deploy a registry change to alter the location that WMP tries to rip the mp3 files to. You could set it to somewhere that the pupils don't have access. Bubba.

As per DavidH above, use ROBOCOPY if you can. It will copy all your permissions with the files. Usage ROBOCOPY /E /COPY:DATS /R:3 eg ROBOCOPY c:\apps x:\apps /E /COPY:DATS /R:3 the /E makes sure that all folders including empty ones gets copied. the /COPY:DATS makes sure that permissions get copied. the /R:3 sets the retry count to 3 (default is 1 million!!)
