About 123sch

  1. I'm using a Lesson Monitor report, Deal with Missing Marks, to add a recurring comment for a specific day over a date range. I'm using Ctrl Click to select the different days but it mostly doesn't work. If you wait after the last selection for a period of time and keep clicking it eventually seems to give up, but it's a real pain. Any help gratefully received.
  2. Would setting all the gradeset descriptions to a fullstop and using result descriptions in the individual report formatted to 1 point do it?
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Sadly, if more than one lesson absence is found, it comes out like this when either text is placed directly after the field, or inserted through the /f field switch: Fri 20/05/16 3 Tue 24/05/16 3 - Tue 24/05/16 4 Wed 25/05/16 4 period I’ve had a hack about with numeric (\#) and date-time (\@) format switches, but I guess the data output from SIMS for «periods_of_absence» doesn’t readily fit into these categories, at least not with my superficial knowledge of trying to apply formats.
  4. Please does anyone have any suggestions as to how i might get the merge field «periods_of_absence» to display missed lessons better than its default, Thu 16/06/16 3 or Mon 13/06/16 5 - Mon 13/06/16 6 for a range. Ideally all I want is a "P" in front of the period number, Thu 16/06/16 P3.
  5. Thanks, I was concentrating my effort on "Class" in the sub report. Clever, I didn't even think of using "Group". I'm guessing the only other groups that staff would be members of, other than classes, would be a User Defined Groups.
  6. Interested in how you did it with groups as, like you, couldn't get it out of reports after much testing - ended up doing as Roots Schimp suggested from Nova
  7. I believe it overwrites reports with the same External ID rather than Default Name as I was was using a renamed cloned report - a subsequent upload did overwrite. Can anyone confirm?
  8. I want to upload an individual report to overwrite an existing one - definitely the same name. The SIMS dialogue box warns me it will be overwritten when using the upload to document server but when I look at a pupil they have two copies of the report with the same name. Any suggestions?
  9. Sorry, our current Y9s are on a 3yr GCSE, 9-1, with our current Y10s having the skewed 8.5-1.
  10. Wont that be tricky for those transition years - Maths Y10 9-1 and Y11 A*-C; History Y10 points 8.5-1 and Y9 9-1.
  11. ...and "replace with" could then default to the "replaced" so that you only have select the one below, Y7 Assessment 1 to Y7 Assessment 2, for example.
  12. Wow, I never expected that. It seems so unnecessarily restrictive. Glad we have Discover!
  13. Thanks bobsmith, I'll do that. Only just started using Discover but can see it would be helpful to do it this way. Out of interest, are all installations the same as regards what "default" groups are visible. Are they editable?
  14. Is there a way that I can add to the "default" groups that I can see in Assessment if I create a new marksheet, for example, or results analysis? As I understand it, if I create a user-defined group then I have to update its membership manually, even if I selected a member from a "group". The default groups update dynamically eg. classes, curriculum, forms etc. Can I add default groups for things like PP - Y and SEN -Y so they update when the status changes. How would these groups have been set up initially? I trawled through the menus and manuals to no avail so any help gratefully received.
