  1. Thank You BoX, However your code had the same luck as mine. It works if I open it, but not if I try to deploy it. So how does Client Side Extensions work? Is this an add-on I have to install? I'm getting ready to give that a try now. Thank You.
  2. Hello EduGeek, Our IT dept is getting ready to start deploying software and other updates through GPOs but we have one big issue. We have computers that go into a hibernate/standby mode and cannot be woken over lan. The solution we came up with is creating a script that would change the local settings to the 'Always On' scheme. I have a script which I will attach at the bottom. The script runs flawlessly when run on my computer and the student computers. But, if I deploy this script to an OU, the script doesn't seem to be picked up. No errors in logs or anything either. Does anyone have a different approach on how this can be accomplished? And or have an idea why this script is not working? Thank you very much in advance.
  3. Gerard, Thank You so very very much! Your strategy worked! I was able to add the package to the GPO and deploy it successfully. Thank You again! and thanks to everyone who replied to this post with your suggestions! Happy Holidays!
  4. Thank You! Very very much! This is kind of what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the same issue still persists. any ideas on what could be wrong?
  5. Hi AngryTechnician, First. Thank You! for your quick reply. I tried your suggested solution for two programs that I need to deploy, Google Earth 5.0 and Google Sketch-up. Your solution worked flawlessly for Sketch-up, but not for Google. The error I am getting is when selecting the package under the group policy object and it states, 'Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from the package. Run validation on the package to ensure that the package is correct.' Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. I will try your solution using 7-Zip. Thank you! I will reply again once I have tested to see how it worked out.
  7. Hello, I understand that there are posts similar to this one open already, but none answer what my questions is. This is my scenario, I need to install the newest version of Google Earth (Free Version) on several student computers. I tried developing a MSI package using WinInstall LE, but no luck. I've deployed other programs through AD as a GPO, but usually the MSI packages are already built for me. Anyone know where I could find a MSI package for the latest version of Google Earth? If not, a good free program to create MSI packages? Thanks very much in advance.
  8. My name is Juan. I'm a former student of the place where I work. Started working here, right after graduation in 2007. I'm now the Jr. Network Admin for a middle/high school in California. Still going to school and learning as I'm going. Thanks in advance for the support!.
