HI I use sophos and Ranger on the network which seems to work more or less. its the standalone netbooks i have the problems with, they have no gpo support and standalone sophos which does not run policies. It looks like i am just going to have use the auto-delete which deletes from the homedrive / desktop etc not memory sticks unless they have them plugged in at logon, but does not stop them running them will keep looking thanks paul

Hi all We have got a number of netbooks for the kids starting in September some running XP home and some running Windows 7 starter. The netbooks will be standalone and wont be on the domain, the kids will logon with a standard (restricted) account is there anyway to stop the kids from running exe, bat, swf etc from usb and the homefolders. I have seen the various methods using GPO but the home versions dont have gpo support. I am at present running a Cyber-D's Autodelete on logon which remove exe's etc from the home folder. thanks Paul

Hi All New week having another go at getting this working !!! reset IIS and .net copyed all the folders / files from the zip to the extranet folder, followed the docs, I then go to //localhost/extranet it prompts me to login which must be working as a wrong password just returns me back to the logon screen but ie comes back with "The website declined to show this webpage" idea's please Paul

Cheers James do i just copy the extracted folders into the root of the /extranet folder ???? and the browser should then know where to find the default.aspx as its not in the root its in the hap.web folder thanks paul

Hi All Just come across this yesterday, looks exactly what we are looking for. I have a really basic install question. I have checked the docs and watched the video but it doesnt seem to mention the file structure. I have downloaded version 6.4 from the website, when i copy all the folders to the IIS folder i get "The website declined to show this webpage". Do i just copy all the folders into the root of the web folder or do i need the contents from one of the folders in the root of the web folder. Sorry for just a basic question ... thanks in advance Paul

Hi we have mapped a drive letter in the login script (kix) use r: "\\server-pdc\pupil_desktop$" then redirected the desktop with gpo to the "R" drive and set the server share to read only for students. seems to work on on wireless or wired cheers Paul

hi all answered my own question just for information there is a file called ".inspire_license" in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Promethean\ActivInspire" which simply needs copying onto the other machines cheers

Hi Jobos there is two problems all ready "click a drive letter and click mount" we are talking about staff :-) i am trying to keep it as simple as possable also when the staff are at home it wont know the file type as truecrypt wont be installed thanks

Hi All I am busy looking at rolling truecrypt out to staff within school, got it all working on the network and the laptops etc, I have setup the memory sticks to run in traveller mode with an encrypted file just smaller than the memory stick and added the truecrypt files to the unencrypted part. If the staff member at home has the autorun enabled it loads asks for a password and runs ok, in school we have the autorun switched off. I had created batch files to automount and unmounts the volumes which worked ok for admin users but staff can’t run batch files so I created 2 shortcuts from the truecrypt.exe and added the switches i.e. F:\TrueCrypt.exe" /q /e /m rm /v "volume" -- mount volume F:\TrueCrypt.exe /d /q -- unmount volume which worked ok except when you use the memory stick in another computer it sometimes maps to a different drive letter Question is there any way I can use the “target” and “start in” boxes within shortcut properties without having a drive letter ??? or is there another way to mount and unmount keeping it simple for staff thanks Paul
