  1. Hi Ste78564 System Restore can be controlled via Group Policy editor in the addtional Administrative Tools for system administrators. If not already installed, You may need to extract AdminPak.MSI from SP2 or SP3 or aternatively, get it from the i386 folder on a Windows Server 2003 setup disk. Install AdminPak.MSI (Double Click) and a whole lot more items are added to your Administrative Tools. The one you want does not have an Icon so, In the run box type:- "GPEdit.MSC" Navigate to:- Local Computer Policy Computer Configuration Administrative Templates System System Restore There you will find the keys Turn off Sytem Restore Turn off Configuration Both should read "Not configured" in an untouched system.
