Kinda off topic, but have you tried the SpeedyFox utility for FireFox? it's free
-
I completely forgot about this!, Thanks mattx This is a brilliant piece of software.

My aim is just for fun no commercial use or anything like that intended. There is a free program called Free IP Switcher that does everything and more I believe. Just nice to have a customized version

This version now maps network drives with ease. Please remember this changes Proxy and Maps Drives. If you would like one making for your school / company feel free to request. http://forums.dlsoftware.net/samples/ProxyCLCv1.6-1.png ProxyCLCv1.6.zip

I see where your coming from CyberNerd, just simply making a point to how easy it is to have alternatives. Sometimes its nice to see how the wheel was inventied . "informative if you will". Next version will map printers and network drives PS: Not all companys use proxy.pac for one reason or another mate.

Good Find!, I think it may be time to make my next version EAZProxySwitcher doesn't appear to put the IP in for the School Network though? I'm assuming this requires RUN AS administrator on Vista?

Here you go mate ProxyCLC for Darren.rar

That sounds like a good idea, although like anything possibly has flaws and doesn't teach teachers that they need to make sure there proxy's are in etc. Plus teachers tend to pass applications between each other to resolve issues, where as something thats not seen is harder to explain. Just my take, and also the browser will not require a restart when turning the proxy on or off. I think ProxyPac requires you to restart the browser before it takes effect.

I will create you an application tonight and PM it your way

EduNotifier is designed to allow server administrators a way of sending a message to all the client work stations. For example: I'm a server administrator and I want to let everyone who log's on know that the server will be rebooted at a certain time during the day due to some unforseen circumstance. Edunotifier sends a little balloon popup in the bottom right cornor of there screen and lets the user know that this will be happening. I'm sorry I'm not really clear but it really is as simple as that. Also easy to install.

Here's one I made earlier for our schools in stoke, if anyone wants a custom one, feel free to ask and I'll happily knock one together for you. ProxyCLC.rar

Hi Guys, This is my first post. I've decided to create an application similar to Edunotifier. Please be aware this is BETA. Improvement attempts are: 1. Configuration settings and Messages are now pulled from the server. 2. Balloon Tip no longer needed as using VB form Drawing. 3. Messages can be added without the need to log off and back on. 4. Configuration settings require the client to log off and back on before taking effect. 5. Colours for popup can be used although this will be more effective in a later release. 6. Set Interval for messages to be displayed. However first load will force message to be shown. 7. Picks messages at random from text file. 8. Change the style of Message Balloon from Square to Rounded. Let me know what your thoughts are, and if you have any problems using the application http://www.joshloader.com/eXample.jpg I forgot to mention if your testing this locally on your machine treat your machine as the server and the client. Put the clcAlert folder in your C:\ and make the folder "clcAlert" a share. Then in the clcAlert.ini IP: your local ip SHARE: your local share example IP: 192.168.1.10 SHARE: clcAlert This will work instead of having to test on the server right away. http://www.joshloader.com/eXample1.jpg clcAlert.rar
