  1. That works a treat - thanks, Gatt
  2. Hi all, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me with a bit of Powershell I’d like to put together? I am looking to build a script which outputs users under specific OU’s that contain the words “User Expired” within the description field. In a nutshell, I am building a script to go through and remove users that have this - I have several hundred, and would rather not go through them one at a time...! Can anyone help? Many thanks! Jason
  3. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone within the EduGeek midst has any experience integrating Office 365 E-mails with SCSM 2012 R2? I have a problem, and it goes a little something like this: I have setup an SCSM 2012 R2 server on the network, which is now importing content using the AD connectors from various domains all under the same forest without a problem (I go to incidents, and when I create a test call, the data appears in the auto complete field). So that part appears fine. However, my next task is to configure SCSM to create incident calls based on an incoming e-mail. My original plan was to use the on-site exchange servers to relay the information, but here comes the problem... The SCSM server sits on a different domain to the exchange servers (another level within the multi-site), and from what I am told, SCSM cannot use servers..? Is that the case? Or am I hearing incorrect information? Having spoken to a couple of the other guys within the department, we have thought about using an office 365 e-mail account to relay the information straight to the SCSM server which could be a potential workaround to the above problem. The next issue would be to then use the office 365 account to send e-mails as well as receive them. Can anyone else offer any advice/suggestions to the problem? Very much appreciated if so!
  4. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. Ideally, i'd like to find something that will record the computer logons and then allow me to produce a report on the entire network usage. Not as easy ask, I know.....!
  5. Hi all, I'm not sure whether this is the right forum to post this in, or whether this is possible across an entire network, however does anyone know if it is possible to record every single logon to the network over the course of a month? I know you can get a few bits of information from the local auditing... Thanks in advance!
  6. Brill, thanks! Is there a way of leaving the old printers on the server after the script has run just in case?
  7. I am moving from x86 to x64.
  8. Brill - Thanks for the quick response! So all I need to do with the above is change the following lines to reflect the old share names and the new server + printer name? "SV01Dispatch-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-01-M7"} "SV01DriverRm-B" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-01-M6"} "SV01Fleet-C" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-01-C3"} "SV01Fleet-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-01-M5"} "SV01QA-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-01-M4"} "SV02BusFac-11x17" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-C2"} "SV02BusFac-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-M3"} "SV02BusFac-XR1" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-X1"} "SV02BusOps-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-M2"} "SV02EX-MH" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-C1"} "SV02TrainRoom-M" {$newPrinter = "\\SRV-PSTREET01\SV-02-M1"}
  9. Hi all, Does anyone own a script that will migrate all printer's from one print server to another, whilst keeping their share names etc intact? Long story short, I am looking at decommissioning an old Windows Server 2003 box in favor of a new Server 2008 server. Thanks in advance! Jason
  10. Crisis averted - Removed and re-installed RRA!
  11. Hi all, I am having a bit of a weird problem with Routing & Remote Access on a NAT box... The internal access NIC has gone into a "Non Querier/Not Forwarding" mode and i can't work out why. It was working fine up until yesterday morning when all internal devices started to lose their Internet access. Can anyone offer any ideas as to where I should be looking to resolve the problem? None of the settings have been changed since the original installation. Thanks!
  12. Hi all, I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on Windows Server proactive monitoring software? I have used LogMeIn Pro2 with Central in the past and that has been perfect for what I needed it do with regards to remote access, and proactive monitoring alerts: Server Alerts High CPU Usage alert Low disk space alert Service failure alert Improper shutdown alert I am working with a site who sit behind the dreaded LGFL2 network where all forms of LMI are blocked which means that I am unable to use LMI Pro2 with Central. Does anyone have any alternate suggestions on software that I could use in its place which will do the above with as little re-configuration as possible? Many thanks in advance!
  13. Moving the deployment share using a Robocopy script I made seems to have done the job. All I then had to do was move the share from one folder to the other. Thanks for the input!
  14. If it just looks at the share name, it should just work providing I can see that share from my reference station. Only one way to find out! If it then fails, I can create a sysprep and capture task and upload it that way. At least the deployment share will be on another partition at this point.
  15. I have paused the image task half way through so I can make my changes to the image then auto upload. Otherwise, I would probably create another server. Cool, thanks for that. I'll give it a go!
  16. Hi all, I have encountered a small problem when it comes to uploading my new image to the MDT server... We are currently going through and building a new image for a multi-site domain which contains all of the software required for all sites (at the request of the directory of ICT!) so as you can imagine, the image is going to be huge. It is currently sitting at just under 40GB and I am about 3 quarters of the way through the build process. Here comes the problem....The MDT server I am using at one of the sites isn't virtual, and it has just occurred to me that there is no where near enough space on the partition to upload to.....! I have a plan, however. I am thinking of attaching an external drive to the computer, copying the entire deployment share across to the drive along with the share name, then change the deployment share path within MDT to the new partition. Theoretically, that should just work providing the share is transferred. As far as I know, the clients only rely on the share name to communicate with..? Basically, I am after a second opinion. Do you think the above will work at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
  17. I had the same problem earlier on today, but I think i may have the solution for you. Turned out i didn't have "Authenticated Users" added to the permissions list. I set Domain Users, Authenticated Users and SYSTEM with modify permissions just in case. Tested it out, and all was well!
  18. Cheers for the info Michael. Sorry, i didn't make it entirely clear in my previous post. We are currently on an ADSL2+ connection for our Internet, but still get a max of 4mbps, with an upload of around 668k. We also have 2 other ADSL lines into the academy (one for VPN and the other is a 2 meg learning stream into the ULT WAN) which are also ADSL2+. The engineer from the support company did suggest splitting the staff and students off on to different Internet connections, but this would involve setting up another ISA server (don't shoot me, it wasn't our choice...!) and a vast amount of tinkering about. Before we became an academy, i had a dedicated 10mbps cable connection from the local council. Lord knows why ULT cut them off and stuck us with the ADSL....
  19. Nice Cheers for the info guys. Don't suppose you have the contact details for both at all? Or would you suggest going direct?
  20. Netgear all the way, without doubt I've got one of the DG834G's at home, and it has been rock solid for the 4 years i have owned it. I am considering upgrading to the DGN2000 in the near future as well.
  21. Hi guys, I thought i would ask everyone what sort of Internet connection you have at your work place (Cable, Fibre, ADSL) as we are thinking of changing ours to something a little faster.... Our current service is abysmal at best....... We have a 4mbps ADSL line (because we are on the edge of town, and due to our distance from the local exchange) which feeds the entire network. We had our external support company in the other day to discuss possible alternatives, and according to them, our line was being hammered with a usage of 400%! Do you guys know of a decent company/ISP that would provide a minimum of a 10 meg connection, fibre or otherwise, at a reasonable price? The support company in question quoted us at just over £31k a year for a 10 meg fiber...... at which point, the room fell silent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance Cheers guys!
  22. I'll keep that in mind.......... Cheers for the warm welcome guys
  23. I must admit, I have been using it for the bets part of a month or so now on the office PC, and have not noticed any problems with it so far *touch wood*. Although saying that, one of the other guys here said that he installed it on his home PC, and it brought it to a complete stop at random intervals. From what i hear, this is a common problem? We haven't installed it around the academy yet, so that may be the final curtain........
