This is controlled by their UPN suffix in Active Directory for us. We simply have our "real domain" set as their UPN suffix as part of their UPN. No mapping needed.

Same reason Opera and Firefox have free browsers - the deals for search integration and income they can make from the userbase. If Chrome is sold, it will still have a default search engine. That position is up for grabs for income. The DoJ has a problem with how Google leverages its position as a monopoly. Once Chrome isn't part of that monopoly, the same practices being used by Google now are no longer a problem. Why wouldn't they? Chrome is a browsing platform - not just the end software you use.

This is kinda why I posted. Its a topic that is just on the edge of use now - so many systems now have these capabilities built in out of the box, and some schools will start wanting to use these features. Especially as we have a government who is actively encouraging the use of AI to reduce workload across all areas of the public sector.

SIP uses ports around 5060-5082 for the SIP stuff. But then the media can use 10000-2000 or maybe 49152-64512 etc... so a huge range of ports. Do you know what underlying system it is?

I haven't been to BETT for a number of years, so this was a larger setup than the last time I went. That said, I have a few issues with it. The organisation of the event was a bit of a mess. I arrived via Customs House, and there was no signage apparent on where The Arena was - vs it previously having been in the centre of the convention floor. Next, the badges - printing my own is fine, no issue with that. But when I arrived to actually get in? No-one could tell me simply where to get a lanyard. The first person said I'd have to join the huge queue for the registration/printing stuff. Took my own walking around to find some lanyards. It just felt disorganised. On the general concept - I found it somewhat useful, but I had specific projects in mind, so knew what I was looking for. Some of the big stands, I don't really know why they were there though. Dell? Went to ask them about their next generation of 2 in 1 devices, and it took them passing me to someone else, who told me a reorganisation was coming soon and they couldn't really say much. Not particularly helpful! But, the main good thing about BETT? Meeting up with people. I caught up with various people I've not seen for several years, or knew only via email etc... Putting a face to a name is always good for building relationships further! If you go to BETT to just walk around and see the new stuff? I think you'll walk away disappointed these days. Tech isn't developing so rapidly. We're seeing iteration rather than innovation in most cases. And most iteration today is nailing "AI" onto existing products.

More and more CCTV solutions are including AI features and facial recognition technology now than ever. The ability for an operator to feed a photo into a system and find where somewhere has been is a fairly easy task, or natural language search such as "I'm looking for a tall man wearing a red jumper" is becoming more common. However, one thing I have not seen is any up to date guidance in regards UK GDPR with such tech. It seems somewhat pointless for us to be buying new systems with these capabilities, only for us to totally disable them, and then have to spend hours manually searching when the built in features could do the same search in seconds. Does anyone know if there has been any updated guidance on CCTV? The ICO seems not to have updated its guidance in some time. Facial recognition in schools would come under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 as far as I can tell, as it would be processing biometric data, so consent would be needed? What are people's thoughts on this technology, as I can see the major advantages of it, but also the privacy implications.
