  1. Fortinet has an answer to this: Create a Management VDOM; enable VDOMs ( if you haven't done that already): - Create a VDOM called Management ( or whatever you like) ; your existing firewall config will remain on root automatically - Create an inter-VDOM routing link to direct traffic from the Management VDOM to the root VDOM and out on to the internet - Enable NAT to your IP pools on that inter-VDOM link - Assign the Management VDOM the ‘management’ role
  2. Hi, If you are with JA.net you probably already know that from the end of March they will not route traffic outside (Internet) through their Network Infrastructure IP addresses. All fine for clients as you can use IP Pools but all Fortigate services ( license, antivirus, antispam, webfiltering) will try to go through the same interface without success. If you have MSR with JA.net then all should be ok but if your Fortigate Firewall is directly connected to JA.net infrastructure what do you plan to do?
  3. @ nharvatt The discussion is relevant, topic is about Tribal: How is Tribal as a company and their products...etc. Is not on my agenda to say bad things about Tribal believe me, I was just expressing my opinion, there are technical facts on how bad is designed and implemented in some areas; if you still think that Tribal is so great all you have to do is to subscribe to some JISC MIS mailing lists or truly speak with customers. I hope you understand I'm not referring to any specific support case, just as a whole. @ mikecampbell Not a great choice for third party software, most of the work is custom; it is SQL or Oracle backend so you can do most of the stuff you need but as I said, mainly custom.
  4. Do you have any data to support your claim? "...and the vast majority of our customers are delighted with the work we do for them" You either read the wrong feedback data or maybe you are presented only with good and positive ones.
  5. then probably the small board is faulty; if you have a SATA disk reader, just open the case and connect to the disk directly.
  6. try with diskpart or with a low level tool like HP Format; I think Seagate has quite a few tools as well for format and diagnostics: Downloads: Hard Drive Installation and Computer/PC Diagnostic Software | Seagate
  7. u mean EaseUS ? great that it worked.
  8. if you only need to get the data from it, just format and then try to recover; use something like OnTrack and in RAW mode chances are that all data is recovered.
  9. Nagios and Zabbix as Free tools - you need time and some experience Whats Up Gold as paid tool - you need some money...the rest is simple.
  10. Make sure you get the right Hardware from reseller; used BLOXX in the past for 3 years but it was a pain due to wrong hardware which wasn't capable for our traffic. The good part is that they have good support, always in UK ; make sure you ask for Grant ...
  11. Hi, I would stay away from Tribal, they live in the past and way too expensive for what they offer. Not using Synergy so cannot comment on that, but using a more "advanced" MIS system like EBS...the company itself has a bad reputation Support!...there are actually unofficial forums to help users with their issues!
  12. Funny enough that even for version 2014 they have the same deployment methods!
  13. Thx, it worked; launched with SCCM 2007 and all went ok; would see if users find any issues.
  14. what .msi? on Freeware version? How do you deal with Admin Rights required for the latest version?
  15. This seems one of the simplest solution but not too sure if suitable for 10k+ users...; since the cmd deletes all the desktop.ini files from the user folder have you had any issues?
  16. Seems to be an easy option but...not sure if very secure, in the end I've build an RODC and added ldaps for that Server, will see if there are any issues.
  17. How did u do it? just enabled ldap through your firewall? ldaps? VPN?
  18. Just to confirm few things that Zoom7000 said: Yes indeed, Bloxx boxes are a joke + their Tru-View Technology; you cannot say it works until you actually test it properly. After testing you'll be surprised that it actually fails most of the time. Yes their Support are good in technical terms but what about response time? Whoever says that is good Support probably never worked with a top notch company to see what means good support; all this in comparison with their ridiculously high prices. It may work well for small education sites ( few hundred users) where 90% of Bloxx features are not/barely used ( Export, Drilldown Reports, Cache...etc.) but it fails for medium to large sites even with their Impressa boxes. There are many things to say about Bloxx but for a Top WebFiltering System they are probably just a bit better than RM Safety Net ; Oh NO I forgot, Bloxx cannot filter per machine, RM can...
