Just to double check you do not have a Z: mapped already??? try net use * \\servername\share and this will just use the last available drive letter. Also I would try making a share on my local machine and then trying the net share. Have you checked any possible firewall settings?

Create a login script to delete the registry key for all printers. I have a KIX script that will do this. Then GPP can add the correct printers?

Hi all, I have inherited a completely unmanaged network that is a complete mess. I have just created the new intake AD accounts, all 310 of them and was just about to start sharing the drives using RMTSHARE (that is also crashing!) then I had a though, is this the best way? if I do share individual folders I can then use the %username% for AD drives etc.....but I read somewhere that it is better practice to share the folder above, like Intake2011$ and then set permissions after that... I can see the benefit of that, any thoughts??? Also I read that AD can automatically create the Home Drive shares? Thanks in advance for your help

We use WDS to deploy images and as much as we can we MSI. We do not give staff the ability to install software as in the past we found torrent clients etc. We try not to run programs that require you to be connected to a network share as this limits the use to in school only. However, we are trying to utilise RemoteApps more and more

Hi, My Exams officer was running a report that shows the cost of exams, and the report only shows in $. Her machine is a brand new Win7 32Bit laptop. I ran the same report on my 64Bit Win7 Pro machine and all OK, tried on my 64bit 2008 Terminal Server and all OK. Tried on other users 32bit laptops and the same....however the same user on a XP machine is fine??? Obviously all the regional settings are correct. LA support team feel it is not a SIMS issue, however I can not see how it could not be. Anyone else seen this?

Hi, As a school we run a scheme where parents can donate to provide their children with a laptop/ipod/ipad. I want to be able to register their involvement in SIMS, and can do this by creating a UDF, however I would like to be able right click on the column headers in a register and select my UDF, like you can add gender etc. Any help would be really appreciated
