I've experienced exactly that error with different versions of Macromedia Flash (though I haven't seen it with the "Adobe" versions yet) - always when the file being edited is located on a network drive. Sadly I've never found a good solution apart from getting the user to work on a copy on their desktop and then save it back to the network drive when they're done.
