  1. Hi, We have recently had a RM CC3 server installed and hence I've formatted and rebuilt all of our school laptops. All are fine apart from the Acer Aspire 3630s. When these are shut down Windows closes fine but instead of the laptop powering down it jst goes to a a rather nice blue screen. I can then only shut down by holding the power key for 10 seconds or so. Other models of Acer laptops are fine and power down with no issue. Acer's tech support advised me to do a system restore! Pointless and impossible due to the RM CC3 system. Does anyone know a fix to prevent this from hapening?
  2. Hello, My name is Oli and you'll probably be seeing A LOT of posts from me over the next few weeks. I'm starting a new job / career as an ICT / TA at a primary school on Monday 9th Oct. My current job is as reservations manager for a travel company, where I've worked for 11 years! The school that I'm going to has a nightmare mess of IT problems and whilst I consider myself fairly knowledgable I know that there will some things that I do not have a clue about. They currently have a completly wireless network and as far as I'm aware no servers! There is a laser printer which is shared by all classrooms but is somehow installed as a local printer to each machine. This printer is now only accepting print jobs from one of the teachers laptops. I guess there might be some IP address issues but until I start on Monday and get time to investigate I'm really pretty clueless. If any one has some pointers of things to check / look out for please let me know. I have just started an online degree course through http://www.ultraversity.net and I believe at least 2 of my fellow students are involved in this forum. Ok enough for now. Cheers, Oli
