  1. We have a school with a fairly large Nursery and they'd like to have an "additional" SIMS Database in place purely for recording this specific group of children, keeping them separate from the main school and which would also give them the ability to then CTF those children joining the main school. What are the implications in doing this? Am thinking from a licence point of view rather than a technical one. Any advice gratefully received!! JJ
  2. Hi, You should have a CES report called "Photographs" available. You could go into Design and remove the Surname and Forename data fields. I've just tried it and it does still produce Photo's by class for example, though it does continue to display the merge fields of and (no names showing) so it might be sufficient for what you require? Cheers. JJ
  3. Some of our schools that do electronic registration make use of laminated class lists with AM and PM or Period columns and teachers put a mark against those pupils that aren't in class. This is then taken out of school in the event of an evacuation/drill. Wiped clean at the end of the day ready to be reused. However i agree with the comments above, this list would only be accurate for a very limited/specific point in time, unless constantly updated to take account of pupils movement during the rest of that period. I suppose as a head count these lists give peace of mind to school staff but also agree the fire service would do a full sweep for anyone, not just children.
  4. A number of the generic reports such as those under Reports / Attendance also make User Defined Groups a choice under the Group Type drop down.
  5. Oh you're right, once you can get the patches they do the job, it's just getting them....
  6. Is anyone else still as frustrated as i am over the Patch Management/Release process? A number of years ago a new appointment was made by Capita in order to improve the management and release of patches and with this came a promise that if a patch was current it would automatically be available for release. I think the process for this hasn't improved at all, if anything it's now taking longer to receive the requested patches. Having to constantly, yes constantly, request patches be made available is a waste of our time, clients time and the support staffs time at Capita. I have been waiting for one patch to be made available in SOLUS3 since the 14th of February, it really doesn't need to be this time consuming!! Does it? JJ
