  1. Sorted it. I was modifying the user policy but using a laptop and we've got a blooming loopback policy (replace!) in place on the laptops... DUR! I spent hours on this... Anyway, it's working now and for info, incase anyone else if having problems. My adm to disable those two options: CLASS USER CATEGORY "NetSupport School Extras" POLICY "Disable File and Exec" KEYNAME "Software\NetSupport Ltd\PCICTL\ConfigList\NetSupport School" PART UI\\DisableFileTransfer EDITTEXT VALUENAME "UI\DisableFileTransfer" END PART PART UI\\DisableExec EDITTEXT VALUENAME "UI\DisableExec" END PART END POLICY END CATEGORY
  2. Cheers for the reply! Are they the ones that are up for download from the support area? NSSTutor.adm and NSS_Student.adm
  3. Hi all, I've sent an email to NetSupport about this but I was wondering if any of you have had a similar problem? I am trying to roll-out NSS9 within one of our schools and I am having some difficulty in locking down certain aspects of the tutor program. I am unable to disable the file transfer and remote execute functions via group policy. The supplied tutor and student ADM files do not appear to have the option. I have manually altered the registry as per instructions posted on here to disable those two functions and that appears to work. However, they alter the HKCU section of the registry which will clearly not apply to all users. I would also rather modify that functionality either through group policy via ADM or alternatively the client32.ini file. I manually created an ADM file to alter the relevant areas of the registry, however it didn't work, presumably as the HKCU area isn't populated for that user until it is first ran. I would of thought it would of left my UI\Disable... keys alone but clearly not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  4. Odd. We've been selling USB keys etc in our school shop for a few years now. We've banned floppies so we need to provide some way for the kids to save their work off and so sell the keys really cheaply to them. I mean, the kids need them for their work in the same way as the pencils, rulers etc they sell there too!
  5. If it reboots, is there anything in the application or system logs?
  6. I looked at this the other day but considering how unreliable my bt connection is, the net phone is therefore useless and this tv set up will be too. The router bombs every other day and the speed varies wildly on the "service". The drop outs will probably be the crap connection. I hate BT... Actually, I hate ADSL. I wish I was back in a cable area. So far as updates go, all BT equipment I have auto update. That includes the phones and router maybe the V+ box is the same?
  7. If you want BOTH internal and external access, you could probably set the default recipient policy to not have an smtp address and then set up another policy that filters out the staff members and applies an smtp address to them. At a guess anyway.
  8. Haha! Especially on my wages!
  9. XMA? Dunno who they are. But I get your point...
  10. Is this place smothered with sales people?!
  11. Looks like an advert, smells like an advert....
  12. Yes but the house for 195k wouldn't of been 195k before the rise, it would of been in proportion to the price for your old house and you would of still been able to make a "profit", maybe not as much, but then you wouldn't be forking out for a 95k mortgage...
  13. Thing is, it's not *real* profit. It's not like you could sell it and buy something else for 32000 is it? The whole house price fiddle is a joke. Bloody Brown and co... Personally I hope the whole party gets hit by a really big bus. I think it's disgusting the way they've let the prices get pushed higher and higher and then make out like it's a good thing. It'd be good if we all owned properties we could rent out like Cherie Bliar but I've got a little feeling that isn't the majority of us...
  14. Hmmm... My software assurance section lists nothing... Tsk!
  15. The proposal must include a VLE, but that doesn't stop the school employing their own staff to do their own VLE solution. They do at our school and they aren't affected by BSF other than they will have to rely on the new provider for support.
