  1. Hi, Does anyone know of any alternatives to applicaa that work alongside Arbor ? I've had a google and not been able to find anything. We have used Applicaa for two years for our year 7 applications/transitions and year 9 options, but constantly have problems with it, areas stop working etc or areas I have previously used have disappeared. Each time there is an issue that I am not able to correct within applicaa it involves a chat to the help desk, who either direct to their help guides (which I have already looked at before contacting them) or say I'm not able to do what I have previously done its quite frustrating, eventually they will get their support team involved if i keep contacting them! Its also very clunky, with too many areas that you need to go into to switch things on or off etc, or areas you are not able to go to to amend details - this will then involves their support team working behind the scene to fix it for you. Many thanks
  2. Thank you for this, I asked Arbor as well with reference to this, as all their help guides are saying we can only import one timetable. They confirmed we can only import one, otherwise if we import a second one it will create duplicates of everything ? I only want to import classes for now to let me get on with timetabling students, these classes will not be changing. I then want to import again when the teachers and classes are 100% confirmed.
  3. Morning everyone, I wonder if anyone can advise me, we are using timetabler for the first time this year (along with Arbor). I wanted to get started on populating our students and their classes for the next academic year as all the blocks/classes are built in Timetabler, the only thing we still need to do is finalise teaching staff and rooms. Can anyone let me know if we can import what we have so far from timetabler into Arbor and then import again at a later date when the teachers etc are in ? We previously used Nova and Sims and were able to do this. Just I am sat here with my students and classes ready to go, but am thinking I am going to have to wait until our timetable is completely finalised, which isn't until July and then this doesn't give me much time. Many thanks
  4. Brilliant thanks so much that is amazing! that makes my life so much easier to look at options if I go to the student enrollment area. Also thank you for the advice regarding teaching groups and populating - will start exploring that side of things
  5. Morning, We have just migrated from Sims to Arbor and I am struggling on the timetable side of things, it seems more longwinded that Sims and not as intuitive from a timetable perspective. If anyone can help/advise, I'd be very grateful. Not sure if I am just missing something, have also raised with Arbor helpdesk (awaiting response). Teaching Groups: Have set these up as have multiple subjects in blocks that we need automatic enrolment into. When I have added all the subjects required in the relevant teaching group and then pull the students through, its pulling anyone through that may have ever been in that block, even though they have moved to another block. Meaning they have two lots of lessons on their timetable. Surely Arbor is clever enough to just pull through the current students in those subjects for the teaching group? Option Blocks - Yr 10 & 11: We have various subjects in four option blocks (A, B, C, D) and within each of those blocks student's can take one subject. We have students that decide to change options, in Sims it was easy to quickly identify which options they may be able to switch to within that block - example Block A has Spanish, French, Catering, Computer Science, Business Studies, student wants to swap from Spanish to French. Normally I quickly pull up the block, check subjects available and check student numbers for each subject to see if the move is possible - say French shows 30 students, this move would be a no. Does anyone know how to do this in Arbor, without having to manually work through the course list to try and identify all those subjects in that block. Many thanks
