Seems when setting up the iPad you should not fill in the MDM server field. According to the documentation leave the field blank and that sorted the problem out. I've got an ipad that was locked up by a student but I've managed to reinstall the ios and gain access to the device. The ipads in the school are managed with jamf but when I manually enrol the device using the url the certificate is installed successfully along with all the apps. However the profile with all the restrictions etc. fails to install because the device is not supervised. There does not seem to be a simple check box to tick to tell it to be a supervised device. Does anyone have any idea how I can get this device to be a supervised device so I can apply the required profile?
