Update: We're getting rid of the ActivBoard as it is proving both unwieldy and unreliable in our case. Apologies if anyone was having similar issues here, after trying just about every approach we can think of, there doesn't seem to be a fix.

Thankyou to both of you for your suggestions, I will try implementing them as soon as possible to see if they're the source of the issue.

There are no faults with any of the USB devices, and Activ drivers are fully deployed. However, I do now have new information which I didn't have before: When standard users log in, and nothing else is loaded up, the board still works. However, it seems that after everything is loaded in, something prevents the activboard from working on their account, as if it's being blocked by a program as it loads in. Does Activboard require an internet connection for functionality as my workplace does have firewalls and proxy services that restrict access based on the permission levels granted to you. Being a tech means I've got the second highest, with my line manager, the Network Manager, being top level.Standard users may be a level below SLT too, but unsure if that would have any affect on things. I'm not all that familiar with Promethean, hence me asking.

Okay, so this is going to take some explaining. In my workplace, I have a number of Promethean ActivBoards. However, I'm struggling to get one of them working. It works at the login screen before a username/password is put in, and works on my admin account. The pen works, it can track, draw on the board, it's all fine. However, when a standard user tries to log in it completely goes AWOL, the pen stops working and the board no longer responds. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software as the user, but this has made no difference to the issue. I've rearranged the USBs into just about every configuration, configured the board's touch sensors on both levels, and even unplugged the board at the power socket to no avail. I am at my wits end with this board and I've got no idea what to do in order to make the board work. If anyone here has any advice whatsoever, I'll take any suggestions at this point. - T.
