We are trying to use the Communication Log in SIMs. It insists that we select a communicatee in order to save. However when we browse the communicatees, there is no way to distinguish between different contacts with the same name (e.g. if you have two different people called Jane Smith). You have to select one of them, but have no way of viewing which one is the correct one. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

We have a group of staff from an external agency that will be doing some work with a small number of our students. The students involved, and their parents have provided written consent to have their relevant data shared. We want to grant access to CPOMS (only some categories - not safeguarding), to these external agency staff, however we do not wan them to be able to view any information at all (names, details or incidents) about any other students. I'm comfortable with adjusting the category access settings so that side of things isn't a problem. Where I am running into difficulties, is with restricting access to the list of student names and student details. I can restrict access to everyone, or no one, but not to most and allow only access to those I have selected. I should be able to do this through restricted access on the external agencies on class groups, but it is not working the way I expect. The staff member is only able to see incidents they have been alerted to on the dashboard, but cannot view the student's incident record overall. Any ideas? I appreciate that this is a bit of a mess as it's not what CPOMS is designed for, but we're stuck with this system for a while yet, so I need to find a way to make it work.

We are using SIMs. I'm not concerned about corrupting the attendance data as SIMs has the function to create new attendance codes that are mapped to the present mark for sessions, therefore census return would not be affected. What I need to do is find a way to pull these bespoke marks out of the lesson (no session) registers.

Hi, I'm looking for some ideas / suggestions from schools that use numbers in the register as a way to record classroom behaviour / attitude to learning. If you use this system, how are you doing your analysis? At the moment I'm looking at running the Individual Register Report to show the marks for each lesson (either for an individual student or a class), however this doesn't show me what subject the score was recorded in, so needs to be used in conjunction with the student timetables, which just becomes messy and cumbersome. Ideally I want reports that would give me the following information: - a report for an individual student, showing which lessons they get which scores, but including the subject information. - a report to show scores across whole subjects / faculties to identify areas of concern. ​*yes I know this isn't what the attendance function is designed for, and that there is a behaviour section that is more suited to this purpose, but SLT would like to simplify and streamline the behaviour recording and this is one method that they have asked me to look into.*
