Securus Root Password

Hi,

 

Does anyone know what the root password for Securus is. I only want to stick Vmware tools on and they are not wanting to disclose what it is.

Hmmm, might see if I can get them to do that on ours so I can install Xenserver tools... may make it perform a little better!

I don't know - I know naff-all about forensic computing or how Securus is actually set up on the hardware. Just wondered if additional software being installed at root might allow a defence lawyer to argue that the system & therefore evidence had been compromised.

 

It wasn't a challenge, it was a genuine question out of curiosity. Though I would hope that Securus Support would raise such an issue if it existed.

We dont have a hardware box its a virtual machine. The VM isn't encrypted so i should imagine its nothing special.

How about asking their support to install the tools for you, thus not compromising their "secrets"; and you get what you want?

They are closed when we do our server work. Plus its a PITA, arranging them to remote in and update the tools. Last time i asked they wouldn't do it anyway.

 

I have what i want they reset it for me and i am in.

I didn't realise the password was supposed to be secret. Oops.
