Message Box

Hey all,

 

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

 

I am just wondering if anyone has like a message box in the corner of the desktop were you can put information about the school and also put other advertisements.

 

If so what software did you use to do this.

Bginfo would be the tool I suspect

I didn't think you could use that to display like events that will be happening in school and a school calendar.

 

What i want is something in the top right of the screen that shows a little image and it switches between different ones and you can click on it and it will bring up like a webpage with more information about it.

We had something like this at my last job. I wasn't involved in the making of it, but they used a gadget on the desktop.

From what they said, a gadget is pretty much literally just HTML, so it was really easy to create the gadget and have it show current items from a webpage.

 

So you could create a suitably sized page with scrolling and links etc, and make a gadget to display it.
