Hi all,

Just a quick question really - has anyone used the Nabi tablet? They look like a really great idea - one of my schools has just ordered one as a trial, but just wondering if anyone's had any experience with them!

Think I'll be managing it with the Meraki Systems Manager... assuming this is possible?

Thanks guys!

I bought one of these for my 4 year old for xmas, lasted 4 weeks! Chargers are extremely flimsy and easy to break, battery life last approx 5 hrs if your lucky but seems to take even longer to charge. No access to Google Play store. My unit would give me the battery flat symbol even after an entire nights charging and would not boot, I contacted "NabiCares" on the 16th Jan 2013 and yes you guessed it....I am still waiting for a reply!! I replaced it with the Nexus 7 and bought a similar bumper cover, then installed Famigo Sandbox for the child friendly lockdown..

Signed up just to moan about that no doubt. Keep asking around - the unfortunate side effect of Edugeek appearing so high up on google results is this sort of "review" posting. I do rate the Nexus 7's well over anything else though but not played with any of the recent Samsung kit.

My "wut" was directed at buying a 4 year old a ~£150 tablet and then a ~£200 tablet to replace it.

200 for a nexus 7? Damn, you shop at harrods? :D

Quick google search says around £199. [Argos, Tesco, Ebuyer, PC World]

Not the best deal, but the first one I found [and probably the RRP/SRP].

The question was "has anyone used a Nabi" and "if anyone's had any experience with them! " So yes I have used one and this was my experience. X-13 the Nabi is designed for kids as young as four and is supposed to grow with them, better than wasting £80 on a leappad or such which is outgrown in a year. Synaesthesia, I have used this site for quite a while but never needed to sign up....nothing to do with google.

The tablet's just arrived! I'm really pretty impressed with it!

Managed to get the Meraki Systems Manager on it using "Parent mode" - so I'm happy with that!

Will now put it into the hands of the staff and see what happens in a fortnight when I'm here ;)

Hey Gareth, how have you found it? We recently got a few into our school for KS1, but I can't find where to set it up to use our proxy server! Any idea how I do this??

Cheers :)
