Dos_Box Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This has just been posted by the BBC in the past hour: BBC News - Liberty Global to buy Virgin Media for $23.3bn They have been brought out for $23.3bn (£15bn) by Liberty Global. This is still subject to shareholder and regulatory approval however. Interesting times.
Geoff Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Said they wouldn't on the radio. Move seems more aimed at Pay TV and giving Sky some decent competition than any interest in the data services.
Dos_Box Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Wonder if they'll rebrand? Nope, not for at least 30 years! As part of that deal Sir Richard retained a 3% stake in the company, which has a 30-year brand licensing agreement with his Virgin Group.
sparkeh Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Perhaps they can divert some of these new resources to finally getting my mobile bill sorted?!
Dos_Box Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Perhaps they can divert some of these new resources to finally getting my mobile bill sorted?! Apparently that part will be outsourced to the BT billing department. Be afraid, be very afraid!
LosOjos Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hopefully they'll start aggressively laying new cable then, I've been desperate to return to Virgin for years but they have no cable in my area!
