who can tell me what this is

i have been looking for the past hour trying to find out what this cable is. i knownitsna apple sync and charge cable but what are those extra bits for. rj11 connector and some weirs metal switch thing?

 

hope someone can advise as it is driving me crazy

Looks like an anti theft device from a store. The metal switch is glued to the apple device and the rj?? Goes into to tamper system.

thanks guys its been bugging me for ages. we had a few of them come into my works (new) as they have been recycled and wondered what they were. they make a good long sync / charge cable
