This is my old job but has had a slight revamp as they now want the Network Manager to be responsible for the website, social media and marketing which I did not have to do, also they have reduce the job from Full Time to Term Time plus 3 weeks, apart from that it is pretty much the same.

We are looking for someone who can take an innovative approach to our School marketing and the management of our school’s ICT network. We are an ‘Open Source’ School and the successful applicant will develop our network and the service provision using both existing and developing new Open Source technologies, supporting staff and students to maximise the benefits of the facilities and resources available to them.

 

A key aspect of this redefined role will be the development and maintenance of our school website together with responsibility for whole school publicity, including website, social media and the design of publication and marketing adverts, both internally and externally.

 

To be successful in this role you will need a working knowledge in

 

• Linux distributions including Ubuntu

• PHP/Apache/MySQL

• Samba file servers

• Moodle VLE

• Squid proxy / DansGuardian filtering solution

• Postfix email

• Kerberos single sign on

• Wireless networking

• VLANs

• Active Directory

• Graphic Design

• App Design

 

The role will be 37 hours per week and term time only with the equivalent of three additional weeks to be worked during school holiday periods. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with age and experience. Other benefits include a contributory Local Government Pension Scheme.

So, more work but less time to do it.
