YouTube Teaching Resources

Our ICT Teachers here used a website Free Online Learning at GCFLearnFree.org for their video resources for teaching (Primarily Office Videos), which is linked from our Moodle. This year, the website has started to link their videos to YouTube.

 

This isn't a issue for Staff as they are allowed to use YouTube for themselves, but the Pupils are unable to view the videos as they are banned.

 

 

Obviously, we can unblock the page that the video is streamed from or download the clips; but when you have a lot of resources on the Moodle it takes a lot of time to either add the page to the Whitelist or Download all the videos, upload them to Moodle and change the links.

 

 

Has anyone else come accross this issue? And how did you get around it?

I haven't got an answer for your problem [Youtube is unblocked here due to one too many teacher complaints about it.]

Lol well it is about sharing, ours is blocked via the TMG for pupils so it would be a faff to add every page in.

Lol... I sent it out before I finished checking it.

 

The embedded videos don't work. I just get a black box. [They work fine from their YouTube channel.]

Youtube Edu and GCFLearnFree.org - YouTube should be fine.
