Internet providers? Local Authority or something else

Hi,

I have been asked to prove to my Finance manager that out LA internet feed is value for money.

We currently pay BT for our fibre about £6000 a year plus another £6000 to the LA for our 100 meg internet

I can't find anyone else who comes close to this price.

Can anyone let me know who you use for your internet feed with ideas of cost. PM if you want!

Schools broadband (Talk Straight) here, very similar price in total including all the filtering gubbins and what not. We're only on 50mbit but there's very little difference in price between that and 100 as it's on a 100mbit bearer.

 

Fair few others out there with similarly priced setups like M247 and Exa. You could also go a slightly different route - RM were quite a bit cheaper but with a far more lacklustre filtering system - it would've worked out again at roughly the same price if we'd got that with a Smoothie appliance to run ourselves.
