DreddMetal Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 On my machine I decided to revert my theme from XP style to Classic (granted this should have been done some time ago but I do kinda like the tellitubbie interface of XP). My problem is that when I apply the classic theme all the icons on the taskbar suddenly become minute! I have tried altering various settings, rebooted umpteen times and nothing has made a difference. I even tried setting the taskbar to use large icons but these then become too large, after reverting back to XP style the icons are once again the correct size. I know this is hardly a serious problem but its just one of those things that going to keep bugging me until I've got it sorted. Has anyone else come across this before? Screenshots attached. Thanks in advance for any assistance offered.
StewartKnight Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 just a guess, but have you tried: Right click taskbar, and go to properties Start Menu tab, and customise final option is "Use large Icons"
DreddMetal Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks for your reply Steve, I have already tried this, the attached file "classic style with large icons.jpg" shows the result.
DreddMetal Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 I don't suppose anyone else has had any experiences like this? Driving me crazy trying to figure out whats wrong with it.
steveg Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Came accross this for the first time at the weekend! Set your display to the theme you want, then open up display properties, and go to the appearance tab. Click the advanced button, then from the item: drop down menu, select "caption buttons" and adjust the size. Not sure what the default is, mine are set to 23. Then just ok / apply your way back out. They may look pixelated until you re-start your computer. Steve
DreddMetal Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 Pure genius! Thanks a lot for that steve it worked a treat, I had previous tried that with the icons option not knowing that they are actually "Caption buttons". Thanks again steve I can work on regaining my sanity.
