TechSupp Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I want to save a video from the bbc news site before it dissapears so I can use it again next year. How do I save it to my HD? I can do it with Youtube videos thats not a problem but can't seem to find a way to do it with streaming video.
Geoff Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 MPlayer on Linux will do this. If you don't have such a machine handy, I can grab it for you with mine? What's the url?
cheesypete Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 try http://www.wmrecorder.com although i'm pretty sure that the FULL realplayer 11 does it (dont quote me on that one!)
TechSupp Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks for the replys, managed to get it downloaded and now I want to burn it as a DVD however ot only plays back in Windows Media Player (it downloaded as a WMV file). If I used DVD burning software i.e. Nero it crashes out when trying to convert the file for burning or dows not show any video when it is previewed. It must be something to do with the codecs I presume. Any ideas on how to convert or how to burn it onto DVD so I can use it in DVD player?
Netman Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Try AVI2DVD http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html
