Looking for Educational LiveCD without the options to install.

Can anybody point me to a liveCD made for school computer labs that doesn't have the option to install itself? I want to use edubuntu but I know one of the kids will click the installer.

 

We want to use this as a temporary solution until we get faster internet speeds. Edubuntu does everything we need. Are there any customized versions of this? If not I am going to look into creating one.

So you want to run it directly off CD without option to install? If this is a longer term idea, can't you just disable the HDD in the bios? Else they could just install their own version anyway

 

Or is this along side a normal install (Windows/Mac etc?) if so you could dual boot it? Without either disabling things like HDD or directly editting the live disk don't see how tbh

 

Edit - Might be worth reading http://askubuntu.com/questions/47522/how-to-bypass-try-it-install-screen-when-booting-from-usb-live-session-wit shows how to bypass the install/try screen, so shouldn't give an option to install it locally

Well, our primary-elementary campus only has a total of 3Mbps until summer. We are going to use the software on edubuntu so we don't have to keep downloading from websites. Thx for the links, I'm reading them now.

Have a look at LTSP. It will mean you can PXE boot EduUbuntu. It will not give the user the option to install to the local disk.

I would second that, any PXE distribution would be good - just boot your favorite distribution from the network:)
