Hi, I've got a small issue I've been trying to fix for the past few weeks and I'm not making much progress. I have an unattend.xml file I created a few months ago and have been using with great success until the past few weeks. I created a new image with some improvements for my users, and sysprepped it just like I did before. Then I added it to WDS and attached the unattended file. Well, on ALL of my desktops it appears to work flawlessly, but when I try to install it on a laptop I get an error message during the specialize pass. I'm reimaging the computer so I can post the exact error message. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi yall, I'm trying to reimage a whole lot of computers this summer and am running into an issue. My deployment works great for all new computers but our existing computers fail. I am using an unattend file in WDS to tell the computer what Organizational Unit to join when it joins the domain. Well, for new computers this works but existing computers get placed where WDS wants. Is there any way to make WDS treat all computers as new computers? I have 1100 computers that I try to reimage at least twice per year so it would be a major help. What alternatives are there for doing this? Thanks for the help!

Well, our primary-elementary campus only has a total of 3Mbps until summer. We are going to use the software on edubuntu so we don't have to keep downloading from websites. Thx for the links, I'm reading them now.

Can anybody point me to a liveCD made for school computer labs that doesn't have the option to install itself? I want to use edubuntu but I know one of the kids will click the installer. We want to use this as a temporary solution until we get faster internet speeds. Edubuntu does everything we need. Are there any customized versions of this? If not I am going to look into creating one.

Cool. I am not used to designing for schools but my number one priority is child safety. I wish their was a joomla extension that would let me tag faces in photos with a name and have it checked against a database. I may have to code it this summer lol. Thx for the advice.

hi, i have a question regarding placing images on our new school website. We wanted to make it media rich. i know their are child protection laws but in some photos its just not possible to get everyone identified and checked off. for instance, we have a photo of an award ceremony with a gym full of students that we would like to use. is there any way to have an opt out system? i may send out a permission letter for every kid in each picture everytime i post a new picture and keep a large file cabinet full of slips lol. any links yall could provide would be appreciated. i see so many school websites that never change and look horrible and i refuse to let ours look that way.
