Abaddon Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 We've just received 7 laptops with Vista Business on, which in itself isn't a problem, but installing Office 2003 seems to be... We are getting an error on installing which is "Error 1913 - setup cannot update file C:\windows\system32\mapisvc.inf"... Anyone seen this before, and have a fix? Can't seem to find anything useful on the internet..
joem Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Not had any problems here either. We've installed lots of Office 2003 on Vista and never had an issue... If you're sure it's not a dodgy disk and there's nothing else running in the background, it looks like you've got an internet trawl for error codes on your hands. The "mapisvc" is part of Outlook and Exchange stuff, if you don't need Outlook try unchecking it in the custom install and see if it works. Otherwise it's Google for you! Good luck!
thesesimplewords Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Make sure there are no other intsallations of Office on the computer. We had a rash of students who tried to use our 2003 install package that had a trial of 2007 installed by the computer manufacturer and it failed just about every time. We just had to completely uninstall office 2007 and then go back in full install 2003.
