Gongalong Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi folks, I've got a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 laptop with Windows 7. As local administrator, and using IE, I can access web sites without any issue. As the user it takes several minutes to open most sites e.g. bbc.co.uk. I rebuilt the laptop, as there was no obvious cause, and it still does the same thing. We've got several of this model, but only this one is affected. Any ideas on what could be causing this? TIA
rslulz Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 What kind of environment are you in? Do you have a firewall, and dose this happen with just that specific user account? (have you tried another so we can rule out organizational units) 1
Gongalong Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 The laptop's on a domain. We do have a firewall, and it seems to be just the user account that's affected. I've narrowed down the problem though, and it's Flash. This only happens on IE, so I ran IE with add-ons disabled, and all was fine. As I turned individual add-ons back on it was self evident that Flash was the issue. Chrome is fine. There's now a second laptop with exactly the same issue, only affecting a domain user account (local admin works without issue). My concern is that there's some serious issue with Flash as I can't reinstall it (uninstalling doesn't seem to help). Chrome is fine as a workaround, but this could be more of a problem if it spreads. Is anyone aware of an issue with Flash?
