Cache Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hi all I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing rough pricing for Windows Server 2012 Datacenter when it's take out on an EES agreement? I'm just trying to get an idea for next year whether it's worth lumping the servers onto the EES agreement or just leaving off and purchasing on Select still? Cheers
AliG Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Had quotes in the last week and I'm sure it's approx £178 1
Cache Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Thanks @AliG, usful to know and can start planning with it.
Achandler Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) I bought 2 licenses back in September and I was quoted and sold the following. MSVLP15850 WINSVRDATACTR ALNG LICSAPK OLV E 1Y ACDMC AP 2PROC 2 166.42 332.84 Edited November 26, 2012 by Achandler Shocking formatting 1
Cache Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Great cheers. So over 4 years it does work out slightly cheaper, but not a huge ammount. Another advantage I suppose is it spreads the cost rather then an upfront purchase. Thanks again.
glennda Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 With Datacenter edition you need to buy one for each physical host, you can then run as many VM's as you like. 1

Thanks glennda, I realised that it was just to try and get an idea for my costings for next year whether it's more beneficial to buy the Datacenter licences under select or under the EES. At £768 per 2 processor licence under select, the per year cost difference is about £20 in favour of the EES agreement which was what I was after.

It was more a post towards others in the future viewing the thread. Edited November 26, 2012 by glennda
