Could you check this Classic FM stream to see if it works for you?

Afternoon all,

 

Just to check I'm not going mad, could a few of you check the following stream in WMP or VLC to see if it plays properly for you?

It's the stream published on the Classic FM website for use with Linux, but we've tended to use it routinely as we've had frequent trouble with the web version. Normally it works fine but at the moment it's just playing a few seconds of music - the same few seconds every time - before cutting out.

can't get either WMP or VLC to play thre stream. VLC locks up and WMP says it cant play the file.

 

EDIT:

 

can't get the mp3 stream to work, I don't have a player for the AAC stream it just tries to download a 200MB file?

My copy of VLC (2.0.4) opens that one fine, where did you find it?

This is a playlist URL. You can listen to it using mplayer with the following command line (ie in a terminal window):

 

mplayer -playlist "http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/Show.asx?StreamID=2"

 

The other URL listed in the post from chazzy2501 probably came from here: Listen Live Online to Classic FM - RadioFeeds UK & Ireland Search

 

which lists a variety of different audio qualities. Some of the links shown on that page are also playlists - specifically those ending in m3u.
