Macs and local drives

Is there a way to force all network users via xserve to use the local drive? we are having issues with mainly the prograns are not caching to local drives and also students being able to save and work locally to avoid latency issues when working with big files Edited November 13, 2012 by tobiasclarity

In Directory Utility there is an option under the AD section to "Force Local Home on Startup Volume". But to me, it sounds as though you have not set up folder redirection properly to redirect caches, or your XServe has way too many connections. Our kids all work on the network and have no problems, even with iPhoto or Photoshop.
