Tsonga Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Hi there, I couldn't find a separate forum for backup so I gonna post this here. If this is not the right location please feel free to move it. We have a HyperVCluster comprised of 5 Dell R710's and connected to a NexSAN Sataboy shared storage. What are the suggestions for backup up this cluster? We have tried backup exec but it was hugely unsuccessful .
Achandler Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I use Data Protection Manager and do the bare metal backups onto a backup server.
british_government Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Again DPM for full Vm backups, then data backed up using remote backup provided by our LEA
Tsonga Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Yea heard quite a few people mentioning DPM.
glennda Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Veeam! Nothing beats it in terms of backups for VM's IMHO.
Tsonga Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 With regards to DPM, does anybody know if there is a standalone installation rather than having to download the entire System Center pack?
Tsonga Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Yea I can't find the 2012 version, only 2007 and 2010. We have everything else 2012 orientated.
Achandler Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I have an option called "System Center 2012 DataCenter" because I have bought it. Then when I choose to download this, DPM is on the list separate.
