In the 70s I was a Rank Xerox engineer. A new range of photocopiers was introduced that had nixie lamps. When I asked one of the designers why they hadn't used LEDs he said the marketing people didn't thing the customers would accept them!

Well, Christmas is coming.....get your letter off to Santa and if you're a good boy.......girl.......uhhhh......person, you never know what you might find in your stocking on Christmas morning.

 

I like the bottom one on that page, the bare one in the glass/perspex enclosure. Not sure I'd pay nearly $300 for one, though.
