Has anyone got any ideas as to where I may be able to find welsh speaking technical staff in London>?

Have posted a job in the jobs section but no response, nor in the linkedin welsh group, surely there has to be some welsh people interested in work in London?

Only a small percentage actually speak Welsh, I would recommend trying to recruit on welsh language websites. Maybe try Jobcenter posts in the mid and south west areas as well.

The University of Glamorgan has a decent jobs page for graduates that might also prove usefull.

Sorry I can't be more help, but it is a very niche area even in Wales.

By and large, fluent Welsh speakers with good IT skills have their feet well under the table in County Council IT departments. It's where a lot of IT Techs from schools migrate to. :)

With all due respect, do people still ask for help in Latin too? I can't understand that anyone requiring technical support wouldn't be able to speak English, it's not like it's not first language even in Wales for the last countless years?

** edit, leaving original post.

I've learned something today, so apparently the Welsh language has to be treated in exactly the same way as English in the public sector.

Nothing against the notion of equality of course, but boy do our governments like to urinate money away.

Well, there're areas in Wales where Cymraeg's still the primary language of a lot of people. The Welsh Assembly Government and Local Government are committed to a bilingual (and sometimes Welsh first) agenda so if you're in the public sector or dealing with Welsh public sector/educational bodies, you're going to run into Welsh a lot.

Less so in London, unless you're doing business over the other side of Offa's Dyke.

As a language it's hanging on by its' fingernails but there's still plenty of people who think in it and raise their kids in it.
