Anti Virus for a single server?

Hi all,

 

I'm looking for an AntiVirus package for a single file server. Don't mind what it is but must be low on resources like Microsoft Security Essentials.

 

I do not want a managed solution, just something that works on a single 2008 R2 server.

What else is the server running? You may be able to install the MS FEP AV which is the corp version of MSE on there depending on your agreement.

Its a bog standard file server.

 

Doesnt FEP need system center and all kinds of bloat to get working? I just want a simpler installer really like MSE

Nope, just download the software, go into the source folder and install the MSIs manually, you don't get the management and reporting but you do get the AV scanner which is all you were after anyhow

Not in schools... also it won't update through a proxy.

Only at Microsoft could you have 2 virtually identical bits of software that work well but are licensed in bizarre ways, and then succeeded by an operating system that then has then built in but you still cant use the old ones!!
