Backup Exec 2012 running slowly

Since 2 days ago one of our Backup Exec servers has been running backups at 130mb/s instead of the usual 1500/mbs.

 

Where to start looking?

Thats rather annoying!

 

It seems to be that its being very slow verifying also - i'm going to try and update the drivers for the Tape Drive and see if that makes a difference.

I would try and find a tool to test the drive throughput outside BE.

Thats a good point - its currently locked at the moment as its just finishing the backup.

was copying from a VM. I updated the drivers on Tape drive and it was working.

 

We are no longer using Backup Exec with this client as now using Asigra from Databarracks for cloud based backup to a nuclear bunker!

Check the backup exec utilities?

Are you backing up local resources or using network agents?

A simple LAN issue can cripple BE Agent throughput.

As mentioned above it was a driver issue which was resolved via updating them.
