Projector 'blinking' in powerpoint slideshow

Hi all, sorry if this isnt the right forum, just wondering if anyone has seen this issue before.

 

On some occassions when in a powerpoint slideshow (using office 2010) we have an NEC projector which 'flashes' on and off. If you esc out of the slideshow and f5 back into it the blinking stops and it works fine.

 

I had thought this might be something to do with the screen res running too high for the projector but then wouldnt that do the same thing everytime you started / restarted the slideshow?

 

Any suggestions would be apprecaited.

Not a solution to your problem, but we have seen some odd behaviour with Powerpoint 2010 and projectors also. It causes so weird random issues depending on the projector and the computer its running on. 2003 on the same machine/projectors works fine.

 

So, I don't know but I think Office 2010 seems to be doing things in some different way.

My money is on the refresh rate. We had this with a Mitsubishi projector that claimed to support full HD at 60Hz but actually only worked reliably at this resolution if you dropped it down to 30Hz. The problem was intermittent for us too, but went away as soon as I changed the refresh rate, and has never returned.

Ahh brilliant, will drop the refresh rate and see how we go. The machine res is only sat at something like 1024x768 so not stupidly high.
