glennda Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 2010 Version of backup exec is fine - its just the updated gui in the new version which is horrible! With Veeam if you go onto there website you can locate a reseller.
RabbieBurns Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Does anyone know where to purchase Veeam from? I'd like to test it out as an alternative to backup hyper-v computers. I went with shadowprotect for my hyperv backup solution, worked out pretty cheap. might be worth a look? VMWare Backup & Replication - ESX Backup - VM Backup | ShadowProtect Virtual
zag Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Having just found out about Veeam I can understand why everyone is raving about it. Its so much better than backupexec for hyper-v imaging. Just check out this video it really is quite simple. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQTe27IkcbQ Edited October 15, 2012 by zag
Domino Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I must admit that I do not get a reliable backup as there is always some error or other reported. Now I have noticed that folders are getting backed up but not their contents. I am raising a ticket about this now. Not a DFSR set you're backing up is it? you have to be a bit careful with what you actually select for them. On topic: it has it's quirks, but then again I'm yet to find a backup product that doesn't. It's better than their other absolute pile: netbackup.
